The students in second grade at Whitley Central Primary have been studying place value and using base ten blocks in math.
First students did a pre-test to see how many different ways they could make the number 243 using ones, tens, and hundreds.
Next, the students used two different card sets of base ten blocks to find different ways to make different numbers using the base ten blocks on the cards.
The students worked in groups of two to complete this activity using two different sets of cards. Students had fun and enjoyed this activity.
Last, students did a post- test using the same number (243) to see if they had made improvement from the pre-test.
