Mrs. Lanham’s fifth grade classroom worked in small groups to develop drama skits based on popular children’s books. During this collaborative activity, each group had to consider all the characteristics of the drama genre. In doing so they designed and created costumes and props, wrote stage directions, and acted out characters in the story. Afterwards, these skits allowed fifth grade students to teach and discuss characteristic of literature, as well. Third grade students learned about text organization, climatic moments in stories, lessons/morals learned, and character traits, just to name a few. We applaud you and of course give you an encore!
