Our third-grade curriculum incorporates complex texts into their lessons weekly to build students’ vocabulary and language. Language acquisition with domain-specific words and phrases is vital for reaching standards for college and career readiness. Teaching strategies for understanding the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary is taught daily in each classroom.
