Mrs. Lanham’s 5th grade class is among several who are helping to celebrate National Library Week (April 8-12) by writing and creating their own book recommendations and reviews during library class. Reading, writing, and literacy are instrumental components of a successful school library. Since almost everyone has a favorite or beloved book, this activity is an excellent way for students to share their favorite book or author with another student in the building.
The project will be titled "EGG-CELLENT Reads" and will feature student designed egg shaped cards with individual reviews from their favorite book written inside. As you can tell from the photos, students put their knowledge of the writing process to work creating unique and interesting projects.
To recognize and celebrate our library patrons, students who completed this project were given a treat from our Family Resource Center. WCIS Library loves our students, teachers, and community and encourage you to celebrate National Library week by taking a few minutes and losing yourself in the pages of your favorite book!
