Whitley Central Students receive Dental Care!

WCIS Dental Visit

The Young Smiles Dental Mobile has or will be visiting every school in the district twice this year. This is the first year the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers have partnered with Young Smiles for our dental program. This is an On-site Comprehensive Dental Care Program to allow students to be seen by a dentist and have their teeth cleaned without having to miss school. Parent/guardian permission forms are sent home at the beginning of the school year or in the enrollment packets. If the parent/guardian signs the form and returns it to the school, the student will be seen and a dental report will be sent home. The report consists of what procedures were completed, what treatments are needed, how good their oral hygiene is, what they need help with, and whether they need to be seen by a local dentist or if they are cavity free and do not need further treatment. This is a wonderful program and is a great help to some families that do not have the available time to take off work for a dental checkup.
